I've had hemiplygia on my left side for 4 years now (meaning I have weakness due to a neurological effect on the left side of my body from a brain tumor) which causes foot drop. So I need to wear an AFO foot brace now.
I tried to wear normal shoes, then found Nike had some shoes with zippers. They all just didn't quite fit me right and I didn't like the style. I've never been a 'tennis/athletic shoes' person, then I happened upon the Cloud Aika boots. I got a pair right away in turquoise and have been in love ever since. Then I've purchased the camo ones. This is my 2nd pair of those. They are beautifully made with high quality and buttery leather. They last a very long time. And they are the only shoes I wear everyday, so can attest to their long lasting durability! The zipper side allows for my foot with the AFO to fit comfortably and over time has molded and stretched the way it needs . I've never had a problem zipping them up. The zipper is amazing quality. They are also light and flexible which helps my walking so much. I'm on my 3rd pair now and so glad I found these. They have been a part of my journey. They are super stylish too. I can wear them with pretty much anything. Dressed up or down. Everwhere I go I get compliments. I refer people constantly. I honestly don't think I'll ever buy from another shoe company again.
